Safe place reflects on the paralysis and anxiety caused by the acceleration of time and the desperate escape to find a calming environment, surrounded by nature. Whether it’s a lush forest, a remote countryside or a man-built botanical garden, breaking out of the extremely fast rhythm of our lives becomes a subconscious wish. The combinations of the six photographs capture the harmony of nature and a personal moment of quiet elation that could be recognized as an immense relief.

To confront today’s technology-driven lifestyle and fast-paced digitalization, Safe place was created with analogue techniques, such as multiple exposures and different experimental methods. The series consists of three primary photographs that are paired and applied to three complementary ones, resulting in one coherent and organic montage. They all reflect, complement each other while showing a utopian, dreamlike world of human and nature symbiosis filled with balance, symmetry and tranquillity.
